MOTION — ART DIRECTION — CREATIVE

The client needed a video to help provide an overview of global Supplier Diversity & Inclusion, and how corporations and governments can benefit economically with inclusive sourcing efforts.

The Brief:

One of the key obstacles for gender-inclusive sourcing is bias, both conscious and unconscious. The brief was to create an informative video highlighting the benefits of inclusive sourcing, geared to the C-Suite audience. They wanted it to be clean, typographic and illustrative.

Our elements—Fonts, colours, talent attire and illustration style

The PROCESS:

Once we had the script approved, I sketched out the storyboard and looked at fonts and illustrations. With the typography, I wanted it to feel illustrative and hand drawn. I sourced some fonts that I felt could work together and give us nice contrast. The illustrations also need to feel sketched and I wanted them to animate and draw around the talent. Once the storyboard was done we needed to source actors, studios and videographers.

The solution:

I art directed the shoot, and provided acetates of the artwork, so I could help the videographer and talent get their composition, framing and articulation right, so that much of the work was done ‘in-camera’. Once we had the footage, it was keyed, graded and edited together in After Effects. The video was well received and got a lot of traction for the client around the cause.
